Madison is a really accessible town. There are lots of great ways to get to the different destinations for our wedding. 1: Walk! This is how Erika and Andrew get around Madison the most. The city is easy and safe to walk, and we've carefully chosen our hotels to be walkable to a lot of amazing activities (including some of the wedding events!) 2: Bike: We aren't expecting you to bring your own bikes, but Madison has an easy and affordable electric-bike rental program called B-Cycle. There are stations in lots of convenient places around Madison. 3: Uber/Lyft: It should be easy and quick to get an Uber or a Lyft in Madison. And since most wedding events and popular Madison destinations are less than 15 minutes from either hotel, Ubers and Lyfts should be quite affordable. 4: Drive: Generally, parking is fairly easy and affordable in Madison. There is street parking most places and also plenty of public parking garages scattered around.
Limited parking is available at 640 W. Washington Ave. Additional street parking is available throughout the surrounding area. We encourage guests staying at the Hilton Garden Inn to walk. Uber/Lyft is another good option for those staying at the AC Marriott.
Convenient and affordable (under $5) parking is available in the Grainger Hall Garage (Lot 7) at 325 N. Brooks Street.
The closest parking is in the lot immediately south of the Goodman Community Center Brassworks Building at 220 Waubesa Street. Parking is also available at the Goodman Community Center Ironworks Building (149 Waubesa Street) and in the St. Bernard Catholic Church lot (220 Corry Street).
We carefully chose both hotels because they each offer something great! If budget is the primary decision-making factor, the Hilton Garden Inn will be the more affordable option. The AC Marriot is a great choice if you want to celebrate at our after party. It is also really close to some of Madison's main attractions like the Square and Capitol building.
We both care very much about our local Madison community, and were thrilled to find a venue for the wedding that also serves the community in many meaningful ways. We invite you to donate school supplies to give back to the Goodman Center. You'll find options on our Target registry or can bring school supplies directly to the wedding reception. We are also really excited to utilize the Goodman Community Center's catering service, which is a way for local teens in Madison to learn valuable work skills. According to Goodman Community Center, "We’re called Good Works Community Catering because it’s a classroom of sorts. Teens are integrated in all parts of the business, learning all aspects of running a full service catering company through our Teen Education and Employment Network program (TEEN) here at the Center." You'll likely see local teens serving your meal throughout the wedding!
