Sometimes it’s hard to believe, but our journey started 15 years ago when we met as coworkers at the Chick-fil-A Support Center. We always had a tremendous amount of respect for each other and found that we had a lot in common both personally and professionally. This created a friendship built on giving each other advice through the ups and downs of life…clearly Jess gave me way more advice than I gave her!! Jessica often says I was like a brother to her. Well, I can say with confidence I never looked at her like a sister 🤣. We are both amazed at how God turned our friendship into a beautiful love story and we can’t wait to spend forever together!
Erick proposed to me in my hometown of Jacksonville, NC in front of close family and friends. It’s a tradition for me to go home to visit my family Fourth of July weekend. I was excited to have Erick join me for a fun, relaxing weekend and to meet more of my family. I was also excited to celebrate my sister and her big career milestone she just achieved. Little did I know my family was in on the proposal and made me believe the entire night was a celebration for my sister. After dinner Erick stood out in the middle of the backyard and began sharing from his heart. It took me about 30 seconds to realize what was happening. I immediately burst into a happy cry! He played our favorite song, Lessons by Eric Roberson, and also played a song he had made especially for us. It is a night I will never forget! My 8 year old nephew told him never to wash the shirt he had on, because my mascara on his shirt was a symbol of our love!
