Are “plus ones” or “dates” invited?

Unfortunately we are not inviting extra guests unless clearly stated on your invite. We appreciate you understanding!

Are children invited to the reception?

Answer

We love kids! Olivia is a teacher and spends her days educating children! That being said, we are having an adults only wedding and not inviting any children to the celebrations. Thank you for understanding!

What should you wear?

Answer

Formal/cocktail. We don’t expect all men in suits and ties, but dress shirts/pants are perfect. NO jeans and NO white dresses please!

Where can we park?

Answer

Parking downtown for reception: you cannot park in the small lot directly next to the Eberhard Center. You will need to go to the GVSU Fulton Lot and walk to the center. The lot is located at: 312 Fulton St W, Grand Rapids, MI 49504

Can you use your phone during the ceremony?

Answer

We would love for you to keep your phones on silent and pocketed away. We have a wonderful photographer and we don’t want any phones/technology ruining the photos.

What time should you arrive to the ceremony/reception?

Answer

15 minutes before the ceremony starts is perfect. 3:15pm at the latest. Guests who arrive late to the ceremony start time will be asked to stand in the back as to not disrupt the event. Cocktail hour will be from 5-6pm with dinner around 6pm. Please arrive a bit before 6pm so all guests can be seated.

Are we outdoors or indoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors at Millennium Park and the reception is indoors at the GVSU Eberhard Center. Since it is early October, the weather could be unpredictable. Feel free to bring a coat or light jacket for the outdoor ceremony.

What’s for dinner?

Answer

We are doing a buffet style dinner. Two meat options, sides, and salad.

Where can we stay?

Answer

Our reception is downtown Grand Rapids and there are plenty of options! We recommend Hyatt Place GR/Downtown. There is a block of rooms being held for our guests if you book before Sept. 22, 2023. This hotel has a parking fee.
