Arty's hometown, Phayao, is a small city with a population of about 20,000 located on the shores of Phayao Lake in Northern Thailand. Its location is 450 miles north from Thailand's capital city, Bangkok. We recommend that our guests fly into Chiang Rai, Thailand's northernmost major city. From Chiang Rai, Phayao is a 1.5 hour scenic commute by taxi, bus or rental car. Another major city nearby is Chiang Mai, known as "Rose of the North." This very popular tourist destination is a 3.5 hour commute from Phayao and is famous for its historical temples, rich history and culture, picturesque mountains, cool weather, and scenic views.
Following the wedding, Arty and Eric plan to honeymoon in Thailand's famous tourist destinations. For our guests that want to extend their travel to see more of Thailand, we recommend the famous resort destinations of Bangkok, Koh Samui, Krabi, and Pattaya where you might just get lucky enough to see the newly-weds sipping champagne on the beach!
