I've known that we were meant to be together forever. To be lucky enough to find my person. The person I can share my life with. My best friend and my soul mate. We decided to take a long weekend and getaway. We arrived at Black Bear Casino and check in to our room. We were on the 12th floor with beautiful views. We took a picture with the fall colors ands the hills as our back drop. After the picture I started to walk away and he grabbed my hand and got down on one knee. My knees got weak and I had to drop to the floor. Then he asked me to marry him. To hear him ask me the question I have been waiting for and how much he loves me, and he can't imagine his life without me. Without hesitation I said yes. Everyone that will be sharing our day with us are well aware of where we came from. On our individual path's to better our lives we began seeing each other at church and our celebrate recovery meetings. The thought of being in a relationship was definitely not on our minds, but God and fate had another plan. Before we knew it we were madly in love. I knew right away that he was going to be my forever. On our first date I remember asking him when he was driving me home, "Is this gonna get weird" and he started laughing and said only if you make it weird. To this day we laugh about that first date. Weird is definitely not how I would describe the amazingness that is now my life with Eric James.
