Greg and I met in the summer of 2018 and since have found deep friendship over our shared love of running and cycling. Over weekly coffee and runs together we explored many of these themes, but where friendship turned into brotherhood was over our uniting desire to grow deeper in our knowledge of the Lord and share in that together, a type of friendship that until Greg I had never had before. Greg is one of the most humble, genuine, and kind people I have ever met, making himself available to me for years in an authentic and generous way. No matter how far away either of us go in this world, I know we’ll pick up right where we left off, as we always do, over good coffee and conversation.

Robert is known in the Hamer household as everyone's favorite sibling, and I would have to agree. Despite his well known easy going and risk free nature Robert also holds the distinguished position of most childhood household accidents amongst the Hamer clan. Besides the small stretch between 12 and 13 where he became probably the world’s worst person, despite this prepubescent hiccup I have known Robert as nothing but humble, kind, and one with a servant’s heart. Yes, Robert is my little brother, but in both stature and character I look up to him in many ways, admiring his stock portfolio yes, but also in how he seeks the Lord and His people, something I only wish I had at his age. It is a gift to have a brother, and it is an even greater one when you can call that brother a true friend.

Ifeoma and I were housemates in Boston. Our friendship formed over late-night conversations, museum trips, and countless cups of hot chocolate. She has a way of making me laugh harder than anyone else.

Maybe it's the mustache, or maybe it’s the Sunday morning pancakes, whatever the reason Ryan is the type of person who draws people to him, I of course being no exception. I have had the honor to know and live with Ryan for a number of years, witnessing first hand what one can expect to learn and be challenged in through the pursuit of marriage. Ryan has been a shining example of what it looks like to truly lay down one's life for another and not shrink to fear or the challenge, but instead to run full speed at the danger and say “I love you, and over my dead body am I going to let you live a stupid life”. I had the honor of standing in Ryan’s wedding this past spring, playing confident witness to his vows, and I am honored that he would do the same for me.

For having known Chad the least amount of time out of the group, he quickly has become one of my closest and dearest confident. What I love about my friendship with Chad is the honest and reckless abandon I can have in talking with him, and just when I think my meanderings of hysteria have perhaps gone too far, I am met in return with the same emotion, affection, and affirmation. It is a short and valuable season of life before marriage we get, and I am so glad I got to share it with Chad. I remember when Audrey and Chad met for the first time it was like two old friends finally reunited after so long. That is the type of friend Chad is, he loves what you love, because he loves you.
