Camelback mountain is a 5 mile challenging but rewarding hike in Phoenix with amazing views at the top. It's pretty difficult, steep and requires a lot of scrambling/ using your hands. We would recommend bringing lots of water and coming prepared with hiking boots for this one. We brought our DSLR and captured the views as much as we could.
Sunrise is a 5 mile moderate hike near the Scottsdale/ Fountain Hills area. We did this hike the first winter we lived in AZ and it was covered in snow just like all the neighboring mountain ranges, making it amazingly beautiful at the summit!
We love taking a drive to Sedona for beautiful hikes, scenery, and outdoors. Sedona has red rock mountains that are breathtaking to drive through and especially amazing to hike. Some of our favorite hikes are Cathedral Rock, The Devil's Bridge, and Bell trail. Sedona is about 2 hours north of Phoenix but worth the trip. We would recommend using the all trails app to find out everything you need to know about hikes in Sedona and the Phoenix/ Scottsdale area.
