How We Met

03.01.15 | Knoxville, TN

The night Erica and I met was less like a Disney fairytale and more like a Netflix original series. I was out In Knoxville with a group of college friends and we were attending our gathering place that we frequented on the weekend. While there hanging out and doing what recent college graduates do, I was introduced to Erica through a mutual friend. Although we both attended Carson Newman, we had never met. We chatted for a couple hours that night. We also danced (probably to some Rihanna or something) and hung out most of the night. Still in disbelief that this beautiful girl was giving me the time of day, I was able to score her number. I was ecstatic (later would find out that she also gave her number to a friend of mine, but everything worked out). We would text off and on for a little over a year and eventually we went on our first date. It wasn't long after our first date that she would officially become my girlfriend, and now my soon to be wife! Love you Erica!

The Proposal

06.26.18 | Portsmouth, NH

At the beginning of 2018, Caleb and I began planning a trip to the New England states. Not only did we want to visit several cities within a 10-day span, we wanted to drive to each location and stay in the RV. So, in June, we borrowed his Granny's RV and headed to Boston, our first stop in the trip. We spent two days in Boston, then headed to Portsmouth, NH. The first afternoon/evening in Portsmouth was spent exploring downtown. The next morning, I was super excited to make breakfast. Unfortunately, Caleb is not a breakfast guy but he tolerates it occasionally for me. So I was not surprised that mid-breakfast he walks into the RV still chewing his food (I was assuming that he hated it and was going to spit it out). Little did I know, he was grabbing the ring and proposed right there. It was a moment I will never forget! I’m so excited to be marrying Caleb Thomas Keener and I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together trying to get the dogs to come in the house, forgetting to put the clothes in the dryer and laughing every single day. (P.S. the rest of the trip was amazing!)
