Freshman year, Siena College, 2016. That's when it all began. We were introduced by some mutual friends, and my first ever words to Eric were a pun-based pick-up line (naturally). My intention wasn't to flirt, merely to entertain, but he was clearly not amused, and I went on with my life convinced that he hated me. As we began to spend more time together with our friends, we became more drawn to each other until we spent almost every evening talking. After a few months of this, our friends couldn't stand it anymore. They decided that we both had to quit tiptoeing around the fact that we liked each other. After a few HOURS of awkward conversation, Eric told me he "like liked" me and the rest is history! Since then, we've had 6 incredible years of more puns, hiking and kayaking, doggy play dates, concerts, beach days, traveling, adventures, and love. We are excited for more to come!
10.19.18 Eric and I planned a trip to head upstate for the weekend, the usual. It just so happened that Eric had a lot more in store planned than I had realized! We met up with some friends in Bolton Landing to hike up a short trail and enjoy the Fall foliage in the Adirondacks. We hung out at the overlook, "The Pinnacle," for some time. Eric asked Kevin to take a picture of him and I. As the two of us stood cheesing, Eric started shuffling and that's when he shook my arm to get my attention. The minute I realized what was going on I started crying! It was perfect... Lake George and the mountains that we love to hike made up a gorgeous backdrop, we were back in the area we first met, Kevin was recording the whole thing, and there was a professional photographer capturing the moment by pure chance! Through the sobs and tears, I was able to say "Of course!" I smiled the whole way back down the trail, thinking about the new adventure our life was starting on, as our new photographer friend, Don, gave us marriage advice from his own 34 years of experience. This was, quite literally, the Pinnacle of happiness!
