Trolleys will be leaving from 55 West Street (by the waterfront) starting at 2:30pm. Oli's Trolley has a very iconic Trolley-shaped kiosk and their staff will be there to answer any questions you may have. Please arrive by 2:15pm if possible and no later than 3pm. Cabs (or Uber or Lyft) are difficult to find in Bar Harbor! Return trolleys are available at 9pm, 10pm, and 10:30pm. If you have questions, please reach out to them directly at 207.288.9899.
Our wedding ceremony is at 4pm at Bar Harbor Cellars Winery (854 ME-3, Bar Harbor, Maine) about 15 minutes outside downtown Bar Harbor. Our reception will immediately follow the ceremony, also at Bar Harbor Cellars, with dinner at 6pm. Please join us for beverages and appetizers in the courtyard of the winery prior to the ceremony as trolleys arrive.
Absolutely. Parking is relatively limited, but available for those who would prefer to drive. Please avoid parking along the roadway if at all possible. The address for Bar Harbor Cellars is 854 ME-3, Bar Harbor, ME 04609.
We are excited to see all of you dressed up, but this isn't a black tie event. Suits, suit jackets, cocktail dresses, longer gowns, etc are all welcome. Bear in mind that we will be outdoors on grass and other uneven surfaces so plan shoes and hemlines accordingly! Maine evenings can get a bit chilly, so if you are going sleeveless some type of evening layer is encouraged.
Yes! We will have gluten free, vegan, dairy free, and vegetarian options available, along with plenty of choices for omnivores. Our food is all served family style so you can enjoy whichever items you prefer. If you have a different dietary restriction, please let us know so that we can coordinate with our catering team.
We will be hanging out at the Dog & Pony Tavern (4 Rodick Place, Bar Harbor, ME 04609) for all who want to continue the party! Just walk on over from the trolley drop-off and we will meet you there between 10:30-11pm.
Please join us for Welcome Drinks on Thursday, our Wedding on Saturday, and Coffee and Pastries on Sunday morning as your travel schedule allows. All details on our Schedule page! Friday will be full of tasks for the wedding party, so enjoy a fun day/night exploring Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island.
Check out our Things to Do page for all our favorites! Acadia National Park Visitor's Center and the Bar Harbor Information Center are also great resources for maps and recommendations.
So many great choices! Walk around and explore! For breakfast we love Cafe This Way, Jeannie's Great Maine Breakfast, or the iconic Jordan's or Two Cats. For lunch we love Atlantic Midtown, Peekytoe Provisions, Side Street Cafe, or Downeast Deli. For dinner Cafe This Way, Havana, Side Street Cafe, Mama Dimatteo's, McKay's, and so many other great options. Or get a takeout pizza from Reel Pizza and have a picnic down by the water! Don't forget to stop by Mount Desert Ice Cream for dessert...
Parking in downtown Bar Harbor is quite challenging (yes, likely worse than whatever you are imagining) and the town is very easily walkable, so plan to walk to the Welcome Drinks, Coffee and Pastries, and any other downtown Bar Harbor activities you want to enjoy. For visiting popular locations in Acadia (Sand Beach, Jordan Pond House, etc.) utilize the free Island Explorer shuttle busses that leave from the Village Green for a more relaxing visit. Getting a taxi is difficult and Uber and Lyft do not have a presence so don't miss the trolleys to the wedding!
Not necessarily, but we recommend it! The whole island is gorgeous (and Southwest Harbor and Tremont are far quieter and more peaceful if that sounds more desirable), but getting a cab is difficult, so being out of town means a lot more driving and angling for the limited parking in downtown. Our Welcome Drinks are in downtown Bar Harbor and our wedding shuttle will be going from the wedding venue to the waterfront, so if you are able to stay within walking distance that is probably best.
It depends! Flying into one of the two Maine airports will make for a shorter drive, but if you want to spend a day or so seeing the sights in New England (or don't mind a long drive after a cross country flight) flying into Boston is a great option. See our Travel page for more details!
