Emma and James first met at a party at UC Berkeley before the beginning of freshman year at UCSB. They became fast friends and actually planned to go to a date party together as friends once school started, but Emma chickened out like a big loser! To be fair, she was dating someone else at the time. Still, what could have been... The two bopped around Santa Barbara for the next three years totally oblivious of one another until ultimately rekindling their friendship at the end of senior year. With the clock ticking rapidly toward graduation, friendship quickly became love at second sight. So much so that Emma ditched her job in Los Angeles before it even began (sorry not sorry Insight Global), found a new job and moved to San Francisco so she could continue to pursue a relationship with James, who already had a job locked down in the South Bay. Anyone who knows Emma knows how much she disdains Northern California and therefore how big of a deal this was for her. The two spent the next three years in SF figuring out how to become adults and discovered pretty quickly that they couldn't live without each other. Emma, in typical fashion, demanded that James move back to LA with her at the start of 2020 and thanks to a little thang called COVID-19 quarantine ended up becoming as close as two people could be. After nearly six years together (two of those deep in the pandemic), James brought Emma to Catalina Island for a romantic weekend away in September 2021. He popped the question, she said yes, and now (back to first person) we're dragging all of our favorite people halfway across the world to watch us say 'I do!' We cannot wait to celebrate with you. Andiamo!
