Chance and I met the fall semester of 2015 while attending college. I was new to the university and he was the no-nonsense student athlete. It all started when I parked my car in the driveway of the home he was sharing with several other university students. Chance came home that afternoon to find his “spot” in the driveway had been taken up by my little gray car. He stormed into the house demanding to know who parked in HIS spot. And that’s how I met my husband - standing in the middle of the living room being raked over the coals by this intimidating man for my parking job. He must of felt bad because the next time I came over - (I made sure to park on the street this time) - he washed my car for me and apologized for his caveman behavior. We began dating in the spring of 2016 and by summer, I knew Chance was it for me. We were spending the day at the lake floating on the water and soaking up the sun - it was bliss. At the end of the day I looked into his eyes, and in that moment I just knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with him. We moved in together in February 2017 and we grew our family from 2 to 3 when we adopted our sweet Finley - a German shepherd mix - who is the light of our life. Throughout 2018, we attended five weddings and we kept saying that we would be next just as soon as I finished school. In March 2019, one month shy of my graduation, Chance got down on one knee outside of my favorite restaurant and it became the new best day of my life. After spending 3 years together, we were finally engaged! As we move closer to the day of our wedding, I can’t help but reflect on how much we have changed since that very first day standing in the living room of his university house. However, we have changed and grown together, and I absolutely couldn’t imagine my life without Chance. I know that when we say our vows in September and commit our lives to one another in front of our family and friends, it will become the new best day of my life.
