I have loved Emily for as long as I can remember. I knew her name in elementary school because I thought she was the prettiest girl I had ever seen. Fast forward to high school and, although we were friends, I never thought I stood a chance. We grew apart toward graduation and then college... however through the power of Twitter's direct message, we reconnected while I was on tour with my band and she was studying at UCF. I asked her if she could spare a spot on her couch for me to crash after we played a bar just outside of downtown Orlando. Before long, we began to spend time together when she would visit her parents on holidays and long weekends. It took a bit of liquid courage but I eventually made my move (don't let her tell you otherwise). To this day, she asks me why I took so long to show her how I really felt. My answer remains the same. I felt lucky enough just to be her friend. I never imagined in a million years that I would be where I am today; that she would fall for me as hard as I did for her and that one day she would agree to marry me.
