One time at Band Camp… we became best friends. Rothman was very excited to be in high school band and Emily was trying very hard to seem cool. Same high school, same band, same section. We quickly became inseparable and it was quite odd if you did not see one without the other. Our friendship became closer as we drove to zero period together in the wee hours of the morning. During our drives, we often had long conversations where our friendship grew stronger, frequent slug bug competitions, and many a donut on our weekly donut shop trip. Thanks to our senior year band trip, we finally admitted to one another that what we felt for each other was not just friendship and made it official. A few months later, we moved to our favorite town, Denton, started college at the University of North Texas, adopted the sweetest maine coon, Lily, and the rest is history. ♡

Fast forward 10 years, Rothman and Emily are loving the life they have built after graduating college, starting their careers, and adopting Lily’s little brother, Oli. Emily’s dream trip to Ireland was here and there was no better time for Rothman to ask Emily to marry him. That morning we had the sweetest tea service at a beautiful shop on the Galway Bay followed by a white knuckled drive through the Irish Countryside on our way to the Cliffs of Moher. Rothman arranged for a special proposal in O’Brien’s Tower on the Cliffs. While Emily took her time admiring the historic features of the tower, Rothman all but ran up to the top of the turret to ready the ring. When Emily came to the top of the turret, Rothman was there waiting for her with a beautiful ring, a Tolkien passage, and a curated playlist of our favorite songs.
