Things To Do

We're so excited to share a few of our favorite places in St. Louis with you.
Crystal City Underground

Crystal City Underground

700 Crystal Avenue, Crystal City, MO 63019

We have a small group going out 10am-12:30pm on Saturday, April 27th on a kayak tour. If you are interested in joining, let us know! If you are feeling more adventurous, try underground kayaking in a cave! At Crystal City Outdoors, tour guides will take a group kayaking through the old mines (now flooded caves) on kayaks. Warning, if you are claustrophobic, you may not enjoy this tour. Crystal City Underground is about a 10 minute drive from the hotel in Festus.

Tower Grove Park (and Saturday Farmer's Market)

4257 Northeast Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110

Tower Grove Park is another beautiful St. Louis park, with many walking paths and pavilions. On Saturday morning, if you are in town already, the Tower Grove Farmer's Market is amazing and will be happening until 12:30pm! Tower Grove Park is about a 35 minute drive from the hotel in Festus.

Walk-able, Downtown-esque Areas

St. Louis has many distinct, walk-able communities that are great for shopping, dining, drinking, nightlife, etc. Some of our recommendations for areas to go to are: -The Delmar Loop: if you're looking to shop, for good food, or entertainment -The Grove: if you're looking for good food or nightlife -The Hill: Italian neighborhood, if you're looking for good food -Cherokee Street: more eclectic, if you're looking for antique shops, book stores, etc.

Sustainable Dining - Green Dining Alliance

If you are looking for sustainable, local businesses, the Green Dining Alliance has a directory of restaurants they have certified as sustainable through audits and a waste-reduction program. You can find their list of "green" places to eat at the link!

Anheuser-Busch Brewery

Anheuser-Busch Brewery

1200 Lynch Street, St. Louis, MO 63118

Neither Kaleb or Emily like beer, so we personally have not been here. However, we know lots of folks like beer and might enjoy touring the Anheuser-Busch Brewery. The brewery offers a variety of tours depending on what you're looking for.

National Museum of Transportation

National Museum of Transportation

2933 Barrett Station Road, St. Louis, MO 63122

If you know Kaleb, you'll know he is a nerd for transportation. The National Museum of Transportation here in St. Louis has a train yard with dozens of trains and a "big boy" locomotive. The museum is about a 30 minute drive from the hotel in Festus

City Foundry STL

City Foundry STL

3730 Foundry Way, St. Louis, MO 63110

Food hall with a wide selection of places to eat and live music.

City Museum

City Museum

750 North 16th Street, St. Louis, MO 63103

All I can say is, your kids will love it. It's a mixture of art, architecture, and playground, similar to Meow Wolf. Adults beware, City Museum is run amok with kids and smells like it, too.

The Russell House Restaurant Inn and Brewery

10333 Missouri 21 Business, Hillsboro, MO 63050
