Emily and Jamie (the name by which most of us know James) first met at Washington University in St. Louis at a campus concert. Afterwards, Jamie asked Emily to dinner at his apartment, where he cooked, in Emily's words, "the most delicious Cajun chicken with fettuccine." Over the course of their emerging relationship, Emily, a budding foodie, took her turn at the stove and introduced Jamie to Korean and Japanese food. One dish that really turned Jamie's head was Emily's handmade Xiaolongbao (Chinese soup dumplings that burst open when bitten). Not to be outdone, Jamie took Emily on a quest for the best culinary delights. They ventured widely, from local fast food joints, such as Woofie's Hot Dogs and Gordon's Stoplight Drive-In in Crystal City, home of the quadzilla burger, to the highlights of the New York food scene, such as Le Bernardin and Nobu. Clearly, they found a shared passion! Before they knew it, eight years had passed. They were getting along fantastically and having lots of fun and delicious meals. Jamie realized Emily was the one, and in January of 2016 he proposed to her. Emily said yes!
