For those coming from out of town, flying into Portland International Airport (PDX) will be the best option to get to Hood River; it's about an hour drive from PDX. From there, you can rent a car or there are several other transportation options listed in the link below. Please note: Uber/Lyft will be limited or unavailable in Hood River!

The drive through the Columbia River Gorge from the airport to Hood River (known as the Columbia River Highway Scenic Byway) has lots of waterfalls and viewpoints you should take advantage of! The Oregon coast is also a beautiful destination if you are wanting to extend your trip (mountains and the ocean, what more could you want?!).
