Grant and Emily met at a ministry event called YoungLives. Emily was the intern working behind the scenes, and Grant was the guy in the men's org trying to impress Emily with how many chairs he could carry. After many weeks of Grant showing up early to talk to Emily, texts, get to know you hang outs (taco bell and subway), a date party (which was not their first date! iykyk), Grant took Emily on their first date to Lake Bryan and First Friday after. Grant and Emily started dating shortly after and have grown more and more in love with each other and Jesus since that day.

Grant completely surprised Emily by convincing her they were going to an alumni event for his men's organization in College Station (complete with fake invite and all!). After spending the day driving around College Station and reminiscing on spots meaningful to them, Grant brought Emily to Lake Bryan where they started it all on their first date. Even after seeing the set up, Emily did not think it was for her and was completely blown away when Grant got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! The moment was filled with smiles, tears, dancing, jumping up and down and Emily's saying "wait...what...?". Grant was able to suprise Emily yet again when then taking her to a surprise party with all of their loved friends and family. Can you say BEST DAY EVER!?
