We first met in February 2018 at the Ochsner Baptist ED, where Emily was a charge nurse and Eric was the new tech getting clinical experience for his medical school application. The night shifts often were met with some downtime around 3 AM where the staff would sit around and shoot the breeze until the day shift crew came to relieve them. Eric was looking for some ways to make extra cash since he made 12¢ per hour, and Emily hired him on the spot to take care of her lawn! Cutting grass in the summer was no easy labor, but Eric did it with a smile on his face and great Thoth stories to follow. We got to know each other better hanging out after grass duties in Emily’s kitchen talking about mutual interests and hobbies. Our friendship grew overtime, including seeing Arctic Monkeys at Voodoo Fest and a few Saints games, too. Then in December 2018, sparks flew! We have endured lots in our 4-year relationship, including medical school, a pandemic, and all the highs and lows that come with dating. Finally on our 4th year anniversary, Eric popped the question! We are so ready to start our next big adventure together and are excited you will be there to witness it. See y’all soon!
