We met in the fall of 2019 at Tusculum University in Greeneville, Tennessee. I was a sophomore and playing lacrosse, while Chase was a junior and playing baseball. During my freshman year, I had become friends with a few players on the baseball team. Before I met Chase, I saw him at a baseball game and thought he was super cute. My baseball buddies told me who they were living with our sophomore year and they mentioned Chase. I remember thinking, “Oh my gosh they are living with the cute boy.” During the first weekend of my Sophomore year, there was a gathering outside my apartment building. Me and my best friend Jess went outside to say hi to some of our friends. Apparently, I caught Chase’s attention and he decided to come introduce himself. From there on we became good friends. From the beginning, our relationship came easy and natural. Every time we were together in a group setting, we would find ourselves doing our own thing separately, like competing in 1 on 1 mini hoop basketball, singing karaoke, making tik toks, or watching Bob Ross painting videos. It was obvious we enjoyed each other's company, even our friends in the group had noticed. After two years at Tusculum together, Chase decided to transfer to Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia to continue his baseball career. To keep up with each other, we would call each other every few weeks and talk for hours just catching up on life. Eventually, Chase finished his baseball career at Georgia State and began his coaching career at Georgia Southern University, a few hours further south in Statesboro, Georgia. At this point, I had graduated college at Tusculum and moved back to Austin, Texas to work for FCA. When we were apart, the Lord was doing work in us both and preparing us for His plan. In His perfect timing, he brought us back together! After two years of not seeing each other, Chase mustered up the courage to invite me to come visit him in Georgia. I said yes and flew out to Georgia. It felt like no time had passed since we last saw each other. We went on our first date July 21, 2023. We spent the next day together exploring Savannah, Georgia and on the way back to Statesboro, Chase finally asked me to be his girlfriend. Then our long distance relationship began, only 1,092 miles apart. Our relationship flourished, despite only seeing each other once a month. We took advantage of our time together, falling deeper in love each visit. We knew pretty quickly that we wanted to marry each other. This led to Chase getting down on one knee on December 28, 2023, in Fredericksburg, Texas. On the dock behind the Das Peach Haus winery, I said yes! Thank you God for the sweet gift of marriage that we get to have on this side of eternity!
