All you really need to know is this CSU boy proposed at the 50 yard line of CU's field. Can you say humble? It was a day filled with 13 hours of intentional surprises. From Em's favorite coffee shops, to her favorite people, Cam filled the day with things that honored the people and places that got Em to December 31st, 2023. The day began at a "Noon Year's Eve" party that was a ploy to make sure Em wouldn't make other plans. From there she was sent on a scavenger hunt to all of her favorite coffee shops and at each, a dear friend was waiting. Eventually she landed at Folsom Field for the big moment. At the 50 yard line, Cam simply said "I'm going to pray for us, and then I'm going to ask you to marry me!" But the best was yet to come. Cam stood up after putting a ring on Em's finger and said "check this out," and proceeded to whistle. Out came Em's dog, Bodie. Cue the tears. Next was a car ride filled with letters and videos of friends who couldn't make the big day. A delicious lunch awaited, including phone calls to loved ones. With phone calls to family behind them, a knock at the door brought in Em's closest friends who got her all dolled up for a night out. Hair, nails, dresses.....all the things. Off to dinner Cam and Em went! The clock kept ticking and Em began to wonder just how long they were going to wait to make the long trek to Fort Collins for a "New Year's Eve party" at Cam's friend's house. Cam sat on the couch sweating, and when pointed out by Em, Cam's response was, "I'm just nervous to be your fiancé." We all knew that wasn't true...and the good news is that drive to Fort Collins never came. Cam and Em hopped in the car and drove around the block to a different New Year's Eve party that just so happened to be their surprise engagement party. They were surrounded by their favorite people and danced the night away via silent disco. By the end of the night, Em was sure this had been the best day of her life.
