Ben and Emily grew up on opposite coasts, with Ben in New Jersey and Emily in California. Ben moved to San Diego before High School, but they were still worlds away!! While Emily was wrapping up college at WashU, Ben made his way to Los Angeles for law school at UCLA. Lucky for them, in true Millennial form, Ben swiped right on Emily's Hinge Profile in May of 2015...and the rest is history!! After some back-and-forth texting and convincing from Carrie that Emily should meet Ben even though he texted with noses in his smiley faces :-)... but really who does that?!... Emily and Ben met for their first date at Perch, a beautiful rooftop bar in DTLA. Ben immediately knew when he saw Emily sitting on a chair in the lobby of the bar that he met his forever girl. After more than 3 hours of laughter and conversation, Emily knew too that Ben was her forever guy.

After 5 amazing years of date nights, trips, study sessions while Emily pursued her MBA, movie nights, beach days, golf lessons, and Red Zone Sundays, Ben was geared up to pop the question! And then... Covid-19. Though the world had turned upside down, their love grew even stronger! Being together 24/7 didn't make it so easy for Ben to plan the proposal, though. He creatively crafted story after story explaining to Emily why he was taking mysterious "drives" during the workday, especially when there was nowhere to go during the quarantine!! But at last, the day Emily had been dreaming of arrived. In the backyard of her childhood home, Ben proposed and made Emily the happiest girl in the world. The most perfect proposal in the most imperfect of times. And of course, she said YES! Here's to forever!
