JMU, Fall 2004, Toga Party. Aubrey walked in and Emily was certain she hadn't seen him around before. Turns out he was visiting from UVA with a friend who knew her friend. After a night spent playing beer pong and chatting, he was on his way. Fast forward a few months...the invention of Facebook. Emily got a message from Aubrey asking if she was the same Emily he had met months prior. She was a little shocked, but decided to respond. Over the course of time, a few friendly messages were sent back and forth...often months and then even years in between as Aubrey went on his adventures around the world as a Naval Officer. Los Angeles, Summer 2012. After not speaking for years, Emily got a message...again, via Facebook. It said something along the lines of: "Hey, I see you're in LA now. I'm in the area as well, how are you liking it?" After talking daily via messenger chats, we decided to meet up at the Hollywood Museum. This is now referred to this as our "re-meet", as we had only seen each other once before, 3000 miles from where we were now, 8 years ago. There was something very special about that day for the both of us. Fast forward another 7 years...7 years of adventures together and life changes, here we are! Aubrey proposed on Christmas Eve at home with our 2 boys, Brownie and Graham, and the perfect 90's R&B playlist in the background. Our story is serendipitous. So many things perfectly aligned over the last 15 years to bring us where we are today and can't wait to share such a special moment with all of you!
