Adam's grandparents, Sue and Tom, live in the same neighborhood as Emily grew up in. But Emily mostly knew Adam as the annoying boy that would ride his fourwheeler around the neighborhood. But as time went on they remet outside one of Emily's friend's houses in middle school.

It was a random Friday in August. My sister, Molly, picked me up after work to go shopping for a little bit. Adam had told me he was going to get drinks with one of his friends. Little did I know he was at home planning something. Molly and I got back from the store and it looked as if no one was home. I opened the door and screamed because there were people in my house! Scared me to death. Then I saw Adam surrounded by roses and candles. He got down on one knee and of course I said yes!
