The beach is where most of the action is on summer days. Go for a swim, take out a boat (kayaks, paddle boards, sailboats, and canoes are available for rental), play some beach volleyball, or just lounge around. You can also go for a walk around the Laurel Path, a two-mile walking trail around the perimeter of the lake. It can be accessed from any path leading to the lake, but we recommend starting at the beach or Edgemere (the boat dock opposite the beach).
If you're a tennis player, bring your racket along! The Tennis Center offers five Har-Tru courts where you can join a clinic or play on your own by the hour. Check out the website for 2024 fees.
Located right in town, the Eagles Mere Museum highlights the rich history of Eagles Mere, which was originally a resort town for wealthy Philadelphians in the 1800s. If you look closely at the end of the exhibit, you might even find a picture of ten-year-old Emily playing soccer! We also recommend checking out the Eagles Mere Air and Auto Museum. Just a 5 minute drive from town, this museum features an amazing collection of vintage airplanes, antique cars, motorcycles, and more.
There are many great places to hike around Eagles Mere. The Eagles Mere Conservancy has a map outlining the numerous local trails - click "view" below to see! We recommend the White Arrow Path at The Preserve (located at the end of Prospect Ave) for light hike or bike ride. If you're up for a bit of a drive, check out Rickett's Glen, Haystacks on the Loyalsock Trail, or World's End State Park. Please feel free to reach out for recommendations and more info!
Located 15-20 minutes outside of town, this is the best place to watch the sunset or stargaze on a clear night! It's like nothing you've ever seen before.
