Cohasset features an adorable, picturesque New England downtown area - tons of bakeries, cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. If you have any free time, definitely recommend French Memories right across from the Red Lion (their chocolate croissants are EVERYTHING!)
At the height of World War II, America needed a vast number of ships built - as quickly as possible. The Hingham Shipyard workers built and launched 227 war ships from this site in just three and a half years - surpassing the Navy's expectations and literally helping to change the course of world history. Hingham Shipyard built 100 Destroyer Escort ships that guarded thousands of convoys across the Atlantic during World War II and another 127 of the Landing Ship Tanks so pivotal to helping the Allies achieve success in the D-Day invasions. Today, the Hingham Shipyard is home to many shops and restaurants. Some local favorites include: Alma Nove, Boathouse Bistro and Wahlburgers.
Our out of town guests flying into Logan Airport might enjoy spending some time in downtown Boston if you have any free time! You can also take a fun field trip to Boston Common, where Eli asked Emily to marry him (exact location in the picture above!) Make sure to grab a bite to eat at Maggiano's - Eli and Emily's "special place". This is a wonderful italian restaurant, where Eli and Emily go to celebrate all of their happiest occasions. They celebrated their 6 month anniversary here, and each anniversary after that, including celebrating their engagement. This restaurant holds many happy memories for Eli and Emily, and the food and atmosphere cant be beat! The North End of Boston has endless amounts of food - notably there are multiple bakeries that are to die for. Mike's Pastry, Modern Pastry and Bova!
