We’re getting married!

We met, out of all places, in the "romantic" lighting of a Harvard lecture hall. We were both enrolled in US Food: A Global History, but due to the large size of the class, we'd never met before. On this particular Spring day in March, Emerson had postponed laundry day and resorted to wearing his neon yellow and blue "Missouri Scholars Academy" T-shirt. When I rolled up to the lecture hall, I instantly spotted Emerson's T-shirt in the crowd. Eager to connect with a fellow Missourian (and MSA alum), I introduced myself. We instantly connected, and one week later, Emerson asked me out on our first date (Café Algiers in Harvard Square). The rest is history <3

Boston is a special place for us - every corner, avenue, and park chock-full of incredible memories. At the time, Emerson was visiting me from Baltimore, so we decided to turn the weekend into a special Downtown Boston getaway. We spent the unseasonably warm day chowing down on Kane's donuts in the Financial District, meeting with friends in Somerville, and topping off the day with a lovely harbor-side walk to "recreate" our second date. While admiring the view from a bench overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Emerson got down on one knee and proposed. I said "YES", and here we are today!
