It was 2015 and our second summer working at Camp Lutherwood together. Somewhere in between washing dishes and teaching kids how to make friendship bracelets, Charlotte realized that Emily was in fact really cute, and more importantly- gay! After some flirting and mild convincing, Emily agreed to go on a date with Charlotte and has been thinking that Charlotte is also really cute ever since.
At the end of the 2015 summer camp season, we took a road trip down to Thousand Oaks, CA as Charlotte was getting ready to go back to school. On our way down, we stopped in San Francisco for the night and found ourselves at a little Italian restaurant tucked away in the city. Seven years later, we returned to San Francisco and Emily surprised Charlotte by proposing at that same little restaurant (see photo below). The surprises continued as not long after Charlotte said yes, two of our dear friends walked up to our table on the busy San Francisco sidewalk to celebrate with us! Little did Emily know, that Charlotte had planned to ask a similar question the next day. (Yes, our friends knew both proposals were happening the same weekend and managed the stress of holding in the surprises beautifully!) When Charlotte got down on one knee at the beach the next day, Emily laughed and thought it was a joke. Luckily, it didn't take long for her to realize that this was the real deal and she quickly said yes. Champagne was popped and pictures were taken (see above photo), and as we closed out an unforgettable weekend we agreed that we couldn't imagine a better way of starting this next chapter together.
