HOW WE MET

Years in the making

Zach and Elyse met way back in 2004 in 8th grade at Oberon Middle School. They didn't talk much but that didn't stop Zach from signing Elyse's year book, TWICE! They both headed off to Arvada West High School where Zach became a football player and Elyse joined the dance team. They had some classes together and went to the same games but that's not where their love story started. After graduation, they went their separate ways with work and school but surprisingly they would still see each other around. Even after all those years God continued to say, "not yet". Then in 2017, a small reconnection happened. You could say it all started with a beer. Out of the blue, Zach reached out to Elyse and asked her to join him for a night out with some friends. They both were a little hesitant of each other at first, but they couldn't deny how they felt any longer. God knew it was their time to finally be together. Since then, they have started building a beautiful life together and can't wait to officially be named Mr. & Mrs. Peachey.

THE PROPOSAL

Thank you Jesus

Zach asked Elyse to marry him on February 24, 2019. It was the same day he was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church. Not only was Zach baptized that day, but his father Daniel and son Jackson were as well. It was a big celebration with many family and friends. After church everyone went to Randi's, one of their favorite pizza restaurants. While everyone was talking, Zach's sister Jamie and his cousin Megan pulled Elyse away to take a shot in celebration of Megan's belated birthday. This was only a distraction of course! While the girls were at the bar, Zach was getting ready to ask Elyse the most important question of his life. After stalling a bit, the girls let Elyse lead the way back to the private room. She didn't understand why the doors were closed at first until she opened them to see Zach on one knee. Both of their parents stood behind Zach with signs saying, "you have our blessing" and Zach's son stood next to him holding a sign that said, "will you marry my daddy". HOW CUTE IS THAT?! After a moment of pure shock and unstoppable tears Elyse walked right up to Zach (and Jackson) and said YES! It was absolutely perfect and of course Elyse never saw it coming.
