Listen, don't be a jerk. While we want to respect everyone's ability to feel comfortable at the greatest event of the season, please don't wear a t-shirt. At minimum, we're black tie optional.
The Shedd Aquarium did have many cool features, including cocktail hour with actual penguins, but it also smelled like fish and is being partially renovated through 2025. Additionally, and this is important, you can't blast music around fish, and Elora likes to dance. But we were surprised by how hard we fell in love with MSI. We both really liked MSI when we were toddlers, and surprise, we both still really like it now. It's absolutely stunning and we are so excited to spend our evening with you all there. Plus you get free parking. In Chicago, that's worth a penguin or two.
The ceremony begins at 6 PM. When you arrive, you'll be guided to the Southern Portico overlooking Jackson Park.
I will not have my artistic vision questioned.

We've thought long and hard about this. We know that by getting married near the end of all of our friends and family, multiple babies have been created (about 33 children among all of our guests). We want to encourage everyone to consider a babysitter for progeny under the age of 10, and unruly spawn under the age of 16. That being said, we will not throw a tantrum if children come, and ultimately, we just want you to do whatever will allow you to have the greatest amount of fun. Is your 5-year-old a fantastic dancer and do you not want to stay out past 10 PM? Bring 'em! Does your 4-year-old cry whenever they hear loud music? Maybe leave them with grandma for the evening.
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is more than just a great movie starring John Candy and Steve Martin. Planes: We'd recommend flying into O'Hare, but Midway is also acceptable. Both are attached to public transit, the blue and orange lines respectively. Which brings us to: Trains: If you want the most economical way to get around the city, you'll want the L or the Metra. Both have great apps to purchase fares. Automobiles: A shuttle will depart from the Palmer House on the wedding day. More information on when it's taking off and when it's returning will be provided as we get closer to the date.
