The Wedding Website of Eloise Butler and Jake Burton
Got Questions? We've Got Answers. Wondering what to wear besides your dancing shoes? Curious if your pet goldfish can be your plus one (spoiler alert: probably not). Fear not, this FAQ section is here to be your guide to our wedding day! So, grab a favourite beverage, settle in, and get ready to have your questions answered!
Question

Where can I park my car?

Answer

We will have exclusive use of Burghley House throughout the day (12/09/25). For this reason, parking is available within the stable courtyard and disabled parking bays. Your car can be left overnight but must be collected by 11 am the following day (13/09/25). We have highlighted a map at the top of the FAQ section to help you locate the appropriate parking.

Question

DRESS CODE

Answer

Black Tie / Formal Attire: We ask that men wear a suit and tie and women wear an evening gown. FYI, Bridesmaids will be wearing black floor length dresses and Eloise will be wearing white.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We’ve scheduled the best part of the day to start at 7:00 - 7:30 PM - just don’t miss the snacks or the dance floor action! We’ve taken out all the boring bits you weren’t interested in anyway, so there’s no need to show up early.

Question

What can we get you as a wedding gift?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! However, if you'd like to celebrate with a gift, we'd be incredibly grateful for a contribution to our Honeymoon Fund. We appreciate your generosity and can't wait to celebrate with you! We have outlined a handy link below for ease (just copy and paste this into your browser): https://monzo.me/jakeburton4?h=qwVvon

Question

Will children be able to attend the wedding?

Answer

We have decided to have an adults-only celebration for our wedding. This allows us to create a more intimate atmosphere and ensure a smooth flow of the ceremony and reception.

Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

Under the accommodation section, you will find a list of local hotels and a link to Airbnb. These are all located near the venue, however, other suitable hotels can be found in the surrounding locations such as Peterborough, Oakham or Wansford.

Question

Will there be alcohol at this event?

Answer

The good news: the bar will be flowing like crazy from the drinks reception onwards! The not-so-good news: the venue has some limitations on serving drinks such as shots. Those fancy Burghley ghosts need their beauty sleep! Please note Burghley operate a cashless bar.

Question

How Can I Get There? How Do I Get Home?

Answer

There is a train station in Stamford that has trains running regularly throughout the day. Please note, that this is a 10-15-minute walk away from the venue and trains stop at 10 pm. Parking is also available as noted above. Local Taxi services are available via ABC Taxis Stamford, Ace Cabs of Stamford, Premier Starline Taxis Of Stamford, etc. We recommend booking these in advance. Additionally, Burghley Park will be closed to the public in the evening, so anyone hoping for a midnight stroll home will find themselves locked in—left to battle for supremacy with the resident deer and stags.
