How We Got Here

First comes Bumble, then comes marriage!

Zac and Rachel met on the dating app, Bumble. Shortly after meeting, they realized there were several times they could have met, but it must not have been time for them to be together yet. After all, God's timing is perfect! Thankfully, Rachel DID swipe right. They began talking, and things were magic from the start. Their first date was September 10, 2021. They had plans to go out for a romantic evening, but due to last minute changes, they ended up watching movies at Zac's. It was perfect. It gave them time to just talk to each other for hours and really get to know each other. Rachel knew after the first date, this was going to be something different. On October 5, 2021, Zac asked Rachel to be his girlfriend. Shortly following in November, Zac took Rachel to Charlotte, NC for the World of Outlaws World Finals race. They sat 4th row from the track, were covered in dirt, and Zac was happy as could be when he looked at Rachel and realized she was having the time of her life! She LIKED racing! Things continued to grow, and their first Christmas was spent with Zac's mother's side of the family in Orlando, FL. They got to go to Universal Studios (Harry Potter World) and Disneyworld. This was an even more magical time together. It gave everyone time to get to know each other, and let Zac and Rachel see just how in love they were. They also realized this trip it was them against the world. In the beginning of 2022, Rachel was able to meet Zac's Dad, Heath, and Heath's girlfriend Kimberly. For the first time, Heath actually liked a girlfriend Zac had. They all realized quickly that they got along great, and started going on adventures to places like Las Vegas and Myrtle Beach. A bond has been built now that can never be broken. Zac quickly met Rachel's family too, and Rachel was so happy when her brother, Jared said he really liked Zac. That was a BIG deal. It was obvious that Zac was a part of the family. After many family dinners, trips to breweries, and fun nights out, its even like he'd been a part of their family all along. On December 17, 2022, Zac took Rachel to see the Illumination of Lights in Colonial Williamsburg. He tricked her into looking for her mom, and when she turned around he was on one knee, ring displayed with one hand, and the other hand waiting to hold Rachel's. He asked her right under the light post at Palace Green and Prince George in front of the Wythe house. Something Rachel will always remember!! As soon as she said yes, she heard people screaming and turned to see most of her closest friends and parents there to celebrate! And now we are planning our wedding, and so happy you're going to be a part of our day!
