Martha's is a locally owned, specialty grocery store, pizzeria, bakery and delicatessen. If you're looking for a special bottle of wine, whiskey, or reposado tequila you can likely find it here too. We love the owner, and the team that works there. The store has become a part of our everyday life.
The most happening restaurant in Grand Rapids! Butchers Union is our favorite happy hour spot and one of the places we bring friends and family to for a fun, fancy dinner. Most importantly, the service is always as good as the food and drinks.
We love the ambiance at this cozy, intimate bar. You can go to Buffalo for drinks before dinner, or head there after for a night cap.
San Chez is Grand Rapids favorite, and a favorite of ours as well. The tapas style service means you get to try all sorts of fun, Spanish inspired dishes.
Palio is a scratch made Italian kitchen, and we think it has arguably the best food in the city. It starts with the arancini, followed by the carbonara (frothed with an egg right in front of you), and then finishes off with a sweet, smooth affogato dessert. The pizza is also top notch if thats more your speed.
Mertens brings a touch of the New York, big-city feel to Grand Rapids. From the oversized menus and mood lighting to the classic entree offerings, Mertens feels like a fancy steakhouse without the tackiness of those national chain restaurants. Don't forget to head up to the rooftop bar for an awesome view overlooking downtown Grand Rapids!
We love Rockwell because their kitchen is always open late. The food is great, but we don't even make it past the appetizer list whenever we eat here. You must try the tuna wonton nachos, sticky cauliflower, and brussels sprouts.
Purveyors of the finest scones and muffins in Grand Rapids, Wealthy Street Bakery is one of the gems of the Uptown neighborhood. If you're lucky, you might find some cinnamon chocolate chip scones in the "yesterday's bake" section for a bargain price.
Elliott's favorite fast casual restaurant! If he could eat here five times a week, he would. Its basically like Chipotle, but for sushi. "I'm not sure what I'll do if this place goes out of business" - Elliott.
