Salem

Minto Brown Park 2. Riverfront Park (great spot for kids!) 3. The Book Bin (local independently owned bookstore) 4. The Coin Jam (adult arcade and bar)
Silver Falls State Park
Stunning Oregon State Park, home of the Seven Falls trail, where you will see seven beautiful waterfalls over a moderate hike. One of our favorite hikes near Salem, about 45 minutes from downtown Salem.
Multnomah Falls
See the most visited natural attraction in the Pacific Northwest on Oregon's oldest highway. It really is stunning in person! About an hour drive from Salem through the stunning Columbia River Gorge!
Cape Kiwanda
See the famous Haystack Rocks where the Goonies was filmed and grab a beer at Pelican Brewery right on the beach. About a 2 hour drive from Salem, stop at Tillamook Cheese factory and tasting room in Tillamook, OR on the way!
Mount Hood
One of the most iconic outdoor areas of Oregon, Mt. Hood has just about anything for anyone. Explore Mt. Hood's historic Timberline Lodge where The Shinning was filmed, explore beautiful Hood River for shopping and great beer (our favorite is Pfreim Brewery), or explore Government Camp just before Timberline Road. About a 2 hour drive from Salem.
Sisters
If you are looking for some time in the high desert in Central Oregon, we recommend the quaint city of Sisters, Oregon about 2.5 hours from Salem. See epic views of the Cascade Mountain range, grab a cup of Sisters Coffee, and do some shopping in Historic downtown Sisters. Just 20 minutes from bustling metropolitan of Bend, OR- outdoor enthusiasts' favorite mountain town in the PNW!
