We're getting married!

We met on August 24, 2018 at Norris Lake in Tennessee on a group boating trip. The rest of the group had been there for a few days when I arrived, and as it turns out, everyone had been hounding Mike about the two of us being the only “singles” on the trip. I think we were both interested in the other person pretty much right away, but it was when Mike jumped up on the wakeboard the first time that I was hooked. We went on our first date less than a week after returning from the trip. Since that time, we’ve had new adventures together, including snowboarding, backpacking, camping, and more wakeboarding. We’ve spent time with our cats, watched movies, and eaten enough pad Thai for a lifetime. We’ve bought our first home. On July 3, 2020, Mike got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, while at our home, in our pajamas, eating ice cream. It was as natural and comfortable as the rest of our relationship has been, so of course that answer was a resounding “yes.”

In light of COVID-19, we have made the decision to go forward with our wedding with just our immediate family. However, we are hopeful that we will be able to hold a reception at a later date for all our extended family and friends. The health and safety of those in our lives is most important to us, so though this decision is not easy, we feel it is the best option at this time. We thank you for your understanding and continued support!

We plan on traveling to Kauai, Hawaii immediately following our wedding day, for a week of relaxing on the beach, hiking, and learning to surf real waves! Your continued support and love is gift enough, but if you prefer to demonstrate your generosity though a contribution to our honeymoon, we would be so grateful! With love, Anne and Michael
