Great sushi and generally fun vibe. Go for the wild, immersive interior decor.
Old-school Italian restaurant vibes. Family style or otherwise, big hearty Italian meal with Mafioso vibes.
Great sharing plates Chinese/Pan Asian food option downtown. Order a few plates and share with a group.
Old-school Texas and Old-school Texas steakhouse combine. Recently re-opened, this restaurant is a historic staple of Austin located in the historic Driskill Hotel. Famously the spot of LBJ's first date with Lady Bird. Must visit this hotel for the incredible Lobby and swanky Texan bar, if not for dinner.
Quick slice or a full pie. A South Congress staple.
Good shout for a breakfast/brunch during your weekend here in Austin. Close to Welcome party venue.

New restaurant by Mashama Bailey serving true, but high-end, Southern and comfort food in a diner environment.
All Day cafe on Congress.
Possibly the best views of the river while sipping cocktails, or a Sunday brunch. Book as soon as you can, it gets busy.
Alternative to P-6 with opposite side river views and a nice brunch. The glass elevator is a fun treat on your way to eat.

Tacos at The Line Hotel, a Austin-favorite and a great spot by the river.
Asian-Barbecue fusion, a unique Austin gem. Get the wonton chips!!
Our recommendation for the best Barbecue in Austin without as much of a line as Franklin's. Be careful, there's a LOT of meat, and you will want a nap after. We recommend the Brisket.
Historic Austin club for various live music genres. Very close to the Welcome party venue.
You must work in a walk along either side of the river trails during your stay. This is quintessential Austin outdoor living. The map marks East Riverside but you can start your walk from anywhere along the path, including by the Congress Bridge and down Rainey from one of our hotel blocks.
Go for some city-living pitch and putt action close to the parks.
This is a public city pool created out of natural spring water. It is very cold at all times of year, and a hot-spot (cold?) during the 100+ F degree summers. If it's hot our wedding weekend, this could be your approx. 5 dollar ticket to chill.
One of the many places you can rent Stand Up Paddles, kayak's, etc. to get out onto the river. Austinites love being outside and riding along the river is a great way to spend a few hours.
Quick round of mini-golf with friends? This place is also BYOB, fyi.
Our favorite music spot in the city - a world-class Jazz club with phenomenal house band and excellent guest performances regularly.
Austin is the capital of Texas, the 2nd largest state in the Union. The capitol building is modeled after the US Capitol, and has beautiful grounds. Fun fact - Texas was it's own country for 10 years from 1836-1846.
The historic state cemetery for Texas. Notable burials: Gene Cernan (Astronaut), various governors, Confederate War veterans (incl. General), and a monument to "American Sniper" Chris Kyle.
