‘Twas the night before Christmas. Well, actually it was the day before Christmas. A few weeks earlier, some mutual friends had decided that David and Stella would get along well together and decided to set them up on a date. Their story begins at Peach Coffee Roasters in John's Creek. After a string of bad dates, Stella was fed up. She decided that she would give "this guy" one chance, and then she was giving up. David, eager to meet, suggested they go to a coffee shop at 12 since the coffee shop would close early. Stella, thinking this would be a quick date, suggested they push the timing of the date back, not expecting this to be a long date. An hour later, the coffee shop kicked the two of them out and they migrated over to the Avalon, where they spent approximately another 4 hours together. They shared their first meal (Gusto) and parted ways, each giddy with excitement. It had felt like they had just met up after being long lost friends. Later that night she set up the second date. Little did David know, she knew he was the one after the first date. Less than a week later, they met at Ponce City Market for a romantic evening of ice skating and carnival games. That was the night they had their first kiss. After about a week of delays due to covid, they were dying to see each other again. The universe had conspired to keep them apart by making it snow in Georgia, which everyone knows shuts everything down. Determined, they made plans to go to the one place that was open - Bowlero in Norcross. Stella wasn't playing any games, and made sure they talked about what each other was looking for out of the relationship. A few frames of bowling, and one Five Love Languages quiz later, they both knew they were in it for the long haul. By the end of January, in downtown Duluth, they made a decision. David Feldman and Stella Elkina were officially off the market. Fast forward to July of 2023. On a whim, they walked into a Shane Co. store in Duluth. Four hours later, they walked out with custom designed engagement ring in production. She knew something was coming, he knew he had a plan. In August, David reached had asked her parents to clear their calendars on 9/23. Not realizing how truly foreign her parents were, her dad immediately calls her and asks what’s happening on the 23rd. At that point David had to buckle down, and throw as much chaos toward her as possible trying to throw her off the trail. The day of the proposal had started out like any other beautiful Fall day. They hung out with some friends before getting ready for dinner plans with Debbie and Jeff at Rays on the River. Stella had a thought in the back of her mind that it could happen, but he was acting too casual. When they got there, Debbie calls to tells them that they’re running late. The hostess at the restaurant prompts them to go walk around by the river while we wait. They get down to the path and start walking before she realizes that there are pictures of the two of them on stakes in the ground that outline their journey together, leading up to a rock with roses on it. Stella froze as she realizes what’s happening, and once David got down on one knee she blacked out. Next thing she knew, she was engaged! They had a little celebration before the wedding planning started. And now you're here. We are so excited to celebrate with you this year!
