It seems fitting that we ultimately met through the one thing which has dominated much of our lives growing up: soccer. Logan stayed close to home and played at MSOE, while Elizabeth ventured out of Akron to play at Marquette. Despite having similar friend groups and occasionally being at some of the same places together, we never met until after college. In August 2018, Logan was playing soccer for the Milwaukee Bavarians and Elizabeth attended his game with some friends. After the game, the team went to the Bavarian Bierhaus for a drink, where we sat at the same table and chatted for a bit. The next night, we all went to Nomad World Pub, where we bonded over shared soccer connections, our love of the Milwaukee area, and Logan’s fascination with the Wikipedia app on his phone. At the end of the night, Elizabeth asked for Logan’s number, and she never lets him forget who initiated things. Our first date was at Colectivo Coffee on the Milwaukee lakefront (even though neither of us drink coffee…) and we’ve been together ever since! Logan proposed in December 2020 in Elizabeth’s hometown of Medina, Ohio. Even though we had a wedding date and venue picked out prior to our engagement, he likes to think that he surprised her a little bit. In the 3.5 years since we met, we’ve bonded over our love of sports, old Ed Sheeran, and a strong disdain for the Michigan Wolverines. We’ve taken trips to Austin, the Apostle Islands, and Traverse City, MI. We’ve made countless dinners together and eaten at seemingly every trendy restaurant in Milwaukee. But regardless of our experiences, the one constant is that we’ve always been together. We both agree that our favorite part of our relationship is that we’re engaged to our best friend (Logan’s second favorite might be Elizabeth’s oatmeal chocolate chip cookies).
