It was a mutual friend's 21st birthday. We were both students at Kutztown University and it was the last night before winter break. Liz had convinced her friend from work that she had to go out tonight for her 21st birthday. Liz picked her up along with 3 of her friends (Kent included) and made their way to SHORTY'S BAR. While dancing, Liz commented to the birthday girl that "her friend in the glasses was really cute" and asked his name. When the night was over, she got his number and texted him later that evening.

We were on vacation in our favorite place - OBX! We stayed in a cute little AirBnB and had an amazing time. After dinner on our last night Kent had asked me if I wanted to say one last goodbye to the beach with him. I turned him down - it was cold, I was so tired, and wasn't feeling great because of a bad sunburn. So we drove back to our place. On the way back, Kent asked me to help him with something in the trunk when we got back since we were leaving in the morning. I reluctantly agreed. When he opened the trunk, I saw him pull out the ring box. I turned to see him getting down on one knee and I completely froze!! I barely remember what he said, but I know I kept asking him if he was joking with me. Of course he wasn't and I excitedly said yes!! Even though I ruined his nice beach plan, I wouldn't change a thing - it was perfect and I was completely surprised!
