We met in October 2021 at our friend Rachel's book club. The book was Pride and Prejudice.... For those of you who have known Elizabeth her whole life, you know how fitting this is! Better still, just like Darcy and Lizzy, our first impressions of each other were oh-so wrong! Lizzie thought John was too aloof and serious, and John thought Lizzie was too goofy and unserious. How similar to the book! When he told his mom about the book club, John's mom asked, "Did you meet Lizzy Bennett?" -- to which he replied, "No, but I met Lizzie Waid!" Our first date was in November 2021, when John took Lizzie to play laser tag for the first time. Four weeks later, he said he would propose to her there.... and eighteen months later, he did!
