We're Getting Married!

Elizabeth was attending and playing soccer at Northwest University since the Fall of 2018 when Jared happened to transfer to NU in the Spring of 2021 to continue his academic and soccer career. Jared had seen Elizabeth around campus that Spring and thought she was cute, unbeknowest to her, but did not reach out to her until the Fall of 2021 during both of their soccer preseasons. August 19th was the date he messaged her, responding to a bear video she had posted of her time in Yellowstone Bear World: "Hold up you have a pet bear? That's my dream lol." And that is what started it all. They texted back and forth for a couple of days before Jared asked Elizabeth to meet up and play a ping pong game. Elizabeth accepted the offer and her competitive nature took over in the form of trash talking, but little to her knowledge, Jared had played ping pong throughout his youth church days and absolutely destroyed her. Thus started more matches of ping pong that led to a date (who asked who out is dependent on who you ask). The first date took place in downtown Kirkland with a dinner at Cactus and gelato to follow. With both of them not wanting the date to end, they strolled down to the Kirkland Waterfront where they continued to talk about their lives well into the night. A month later, on September 19th, Jared asked Elizabeth to be his girlfriend with flowers and Dutch Bros (her favorite). This was the start of many ping pong matches, Settlers of Catan games, Dutch Bros runs, and trips that are all held dearly to their hearts. Now, almost three years later, Jared recreated their first date to propose to Elizabeth, to which she said yes.
