Let’s go back to 2012, Alex and Lizzy met in the cafeteria at Everett Community College. They had a similar interest in sports - Alex played on the baseball team and Lizzy played on the softball team. Over the years they kept in touch off and on. Fast forward to the spring of 2023, they reconnected and decided it would be fun to go out on a date to catch up. The plan was to have their first date on April 15th, 2023. However, just the day before, Alex was in a severe motorcycle accident involving an extended stay in the hospital. Initially, Lizzy thought Alex had stood her up because this news was so unbelievable to hear. To prove that Alex was not making this up he sent her a message with a picture of him in the hospital, neck brace and all. In addition to Alex's family and friends, Lizzy was devastated by his accident. She prayed for healing, a quick recovery and that he would not be left with any serious life altering injuries. Praise the Lord he recovered and they were finally able to go on their first date. They rescheduled the date as soon as they could - Alex was so eager to take her on a date! Lizzy generously offered to pick him up because he was still using a walker and could not drive. The rest is truly history. They dated for almost a year before Alex got down on one knee on the dock at the Keen family cabin. Lizzy said “yes of course!” From knowing each other in college, then Alex’s accident and recovery, to growing in their relationship, Alex and Lizzy have really been able to bond and get to know each other more and more! They’ve found an unspoken bond through all this time and a new love in their relationship with God. They can’t wait to see what the Lord does in their marriage for all the years to come.
