Question

Did I read this right...this a wedding at a summer camp?

Answer

You read it 100% right. This is a wedding at a summer camp!

Question

For a whole weekend?

Answer

Yes, we would love to have you stay for the whole weekend! The weekend will start off on Friday night when people can "check-in", get settled, and join us for welcome drinks around the bonfire. Saturday we will have breakfast, games, and camp activities, then the main event (our wedding) in the afternoon. Sunday we will have a farewell brunch to celebrate the send-off. Don't worry, you don't have to remember this all right now - we will hand out programs when you check in that will tell you the itinerary!

Question

When you say check in, you mean at a hotel?

Answer

No siree! This is a camp! We have (heated!!) cabins! Camp Cody is a kids' summer camp that runs weddings all spring and fall. They know what they are doing and know how to keep you comfortable! The cabins are all a little different, but for the most part have 8 twin bunk beds, 2 showers, 2 bathrooms, and 2 sinks. They have modern electricity, heat, and hot water. If you book a cabin we will organize you to bunk up with your loved ones/friends and will not stack too many people per room.

Question

Ok you've convinced me! How do I book and check into my cabin?

Answer

YAY, so happy for you to join us! You can book and pay for your cabin stay at campswostwedding.eventbrite.com. The address is 9 Cody Road, Freedom NH. Please enter on the Cody Road entrance and park in the Guest Parking. Make your way to the Admin Building to grab your cabin assignment, itinerary, and all other information you will need to have fun! You can "check in" on Friday after 4pm or anytime on Saturday.

Question

What if I don't want to stay in a cabin?

Answer

If even after all our convincing you don’t want to stay in a cabin, you of course do not have to. There is one motel 10 minutes down the street and hotels about a 30-minute drive away in North Conway. You can find that info on the Travel page.

Question

What do I need to bring for the weekend?

Answer

You'll need casual attire for the first night, semi-formal for the wedding, and whatever you feel comfy in for the rest of the weekend! We will play games and, if warm enough, hang by the lake, so bring layers and sneakers. For the cabins, sheets, pillows, and blankets will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite pillow if you have one. Consider packing bug spray, sunscreen, and extra snacks (nut-free please!) You're welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages, but please no hard liquor! NH law requires a licensed bartender to serve any hard alcohol. We will have talented bartenders slinging cocktails all Saturday evening and during the rest of the weekend, we'll have coolers of beer, wine, hard seltzers, etc. available to share.

Question

Am I going to freeze my buns off?

Answer

Fall in New England can be unpredictable, but luckily we've got options. We're hoping to have our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour outside with the gorgeous view of the lake, and the reception inside, so please plan accordingly with your attire and layers. If it is too cold, we will move the ceremony and cocktail hour inside. All meals will be in the dining hall and every building and cabin is heated. There will be lots of outdoor activities to enjoy, from lawn games to pickleball or paddleboarding (if you're brave like Marielle). So plan to bring comfy options and warm layers so you can get in on all the fun.

Question

So... Kids' Camp but for Adults?

Answer

Exactly! We’re excited to have you let your inner kid out with us at camp. While we wish we could invite all the actual kiddos and fur babies, we unfortunately cannot due to capacity limits and camp rules. If you have any questions on this, please reach out.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Elise feels you there! All meals will be buffet-style and labeled with allergens. There will be safe options for those with dietary restrictions/allergies and separate options available if needed, so just let a server know you have an allergy and they will get you what you need! Camp Cody is also a nut-free facility so we request that you do not bring any nut products of your own!
