Formal. We are aiming for a level just below Black-Tie Optional. Men can still wear a tux if preferred. If opting for a suit, feel free to have fun with it! For women, a floor-length gown, a fancy cocktail dress, or a dressy pantsuit would all be appropriate. We will be eating dinner outside. There will be heaters, but you still may want a light extra layer for later in the evening.
Please plan to arrange your own transportation to the wedding venue. San Diego does not have great public transportation options, so we recommend renting a car. (There is a parking garage at the venue for guests.) Ubers/Lyfts are also available in San Diego if you don't have your own transportation. As the wedding gets closer, we will try to help arrange carpool options from La Jolla to the venue. Please contact us if you're interested.
Yes, the hotel has their own parking garage.
Due to space constraints, we are unable to accommodate bringing children to the wedding. If this precludes you from coming to the wedding, please reach out and we can help arrange for a baby sitter in the area.
Yes, we have hotel blocks at Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach, a Hilton Resort and Spa (the wedding venue) and at the Residence Inn by Marriott La Jolla (the hotel near our synagogue in La Jolla). Please see our travel section for links and other hotel options in the area.
We go to services at Adat Yeshurun in La Jolla. This is where we will be for the Shabbat of the wedding. The address for Adat Yeshurun is 8625 La Jolla Scenic Dr N, La Jolla, CA 92037 A link to a hotel within walking distance of the synagogue is provided in our Travel section. Please reach out to us if you are planning on staying in La Jolla for Shabbat and we will provide further details.
The cocktail hour/schmorg, ceremony, and dinner will all be outdoors. Dancing will be indoors.
