As cheesy as it sounds, we really did become one of many successful church-camp love stories. The summer of 2021, both of us were ready to go into camp week with an open mind about who we might end up with in the future, one of us praying to just find new friends that week, and the other already experiencing frustrations about feeling like nobody was "the one." Coincidentally, we both ended up hanging out in the same circle of friends the whole week, and became great friends by the end of camp. Little did we know we each had our eye on the other, wondering who would make the first move. As summer went on, more events took place where we both would seek out the other's presence, finding any opportunity to be with one another and talk about anything and everything. One Thursday night we found ourselves to be among the last to leave the campgrounds, having talked for two hours straight. And even though camp season was officially over that Friday, we again found a way to be with one another as we joined our group of friends at the city park Saturday afternoon. We exchanged numbers that weekend and began talking constantly over the phone. Shortly after that, we stayed on the phone so long one night that Tyler fell asleep. I felt it was funny and didn't think anything of it. Tyler, on the other hand, showed up to my house the next day, unexpected, with my favorite smoothie in hand as an apology. It seems a small gesture, but that was the first of many ways we have intentionally shown each other over the years that no one else was and is worth the chase. What can I say except here we are now, almost two and a half years later, and forever to go! We wouldn't trade the camp love story for anything now that its our own.
