Flight
Chicago has two main airports: O'Hare International (services main carriers) and Midway (Southwest and regional flights). The wedding venue is conveniently located 20-30 min (no traffic) between the two airports and downtown Chicago (downtown destinations can take 45 min or more depending on time of day).
Hotel
We have chosen to forego a traditional hotel room block so that guests can leverage their personal travel points / miles. With our proximity to the city of Chicago, there are endless options! Here are a few areas and select hotels we recommend, from a proximity standpoint: West Loop (Chicago proper, approx 25 min EAST of wedding venue): The West Loop is known for its bustling and fun scene (great for brunch or dinner), primarily inhabited by the well-to-do professionals. Visit the northeast corner of Mary Bartelme Park and feel the forever-love hug your soul; this is where Ed proposed to Erika on May 26, 2020! Nobu, Hoxton, and Soho House are accommodations that are sure to provide spare eye masks in case you leave yours at home. Oak Brook (approx 15 min WEST of wedding venue, opposite direction of Chicago): With convenient freeway access to Chicago O'Hare (less than 20min to ORD; 30 min to Midway), this suburb doesn't offer a lot from a tourism standpoint, but is conveniently located, easy for rental cars and offers a large shopping mall area with several dining and entertainment options and a wide variety of Hilton, Marriott and boutique accommodations. Ubers are also easily accessible. Downtown Chicago (the furthest east you can go before swimming in Lake Michigan; generally less than 45min to wedding venue, depending on location and traffic): From historic boutiques to convention centers, museums and famous comedy venues, the "Windy City" has it all.
Travel Note
Plenty of parking is available at Riverside Golf Club and ride shares (Uber/Lyft) are readily accessible.
