We met at the beauty school that I work at. Isaac worked at the hospital with KaRan, one of our Barbering students. KaRan convinced Isaac to come to the school on "Mens Day Wednesday" for a $5 haircut. If you know Isaac, you know how picky he is about his hair, but he agreed to the cheap haircut. After the first appointment he started coming to the school EVERY Wednesday for a haircut and I "just happened" to be the one that cashed him out after his service. The last week of KaRan being a student, Isaac came in for one last haircut and he had to wait about 15 minutes for his appointment. Meanwhile, I am stocking the shampoo shelves and dropped every shampoo bottle right in front of him... I could feel him staring and laughing at me. That night he messaged me and asked if I wanted to grab dinner sometime. We met up a couple weeks later at Half Moon on July 17, 2018. After our first date, we never stopped going to Half Moon and he's never stopped laughing at me. Now here we are, three years later, getting married on the day of our first date in 2018.
5.23.2020 I wish I could relive this day over and over again. We started the day as any other typical day. We took the dogs to the dog park, went to lunch, then went back to our apartment at the time for a nap before our dinner plans. Fast forward to dinner, we went to Marble Steakhouse with our parents so they could get to know each other. At least that's what I thought.. In the middle of dinner, Susan (my boss) called me and told me she had locked herself out of her office and she needed me to come with my key to let her in. I didn't think anything of it, as this has happened before. We finished up dinner and headed to the school to let Susan in the office. When we arrived, we went through the back door and the first thing I see is a trail of candles leading to the barbering chair that Isaac used to sit at for his haircuts. All I see is roses, a jewelry box, and Lucas (his brother) recording us. After Isaac drops down on one knee he opens the box to the most gorgeous ring I have ever seen. I of course said "yes" and as Isaac is standing up I hear a lot of screaming and celebrating. I turn around to all my friends and family there to help us celebrate. It truly was the most thoughtful and perfect evening. I couldn't ask for a better proposal!
