Patrick and Caroline met 9 years ago to the month that we will be getting married. Caroline was fresh out of college at Indiana University, living at home, but taking full advantage of her sister's South Boston condo and friends’ 5th year at Northeastern University. Patrick was on his 2nd year living in South Boston and well into his Southie football Sunday Funday routine with the boys (foreshadow for our future life together). Caroline's cousin, one of her best friends, and a bridesmaid, was newly dating an older Easton guy. She invited him and his friends (including Patrick) to her 23rd birthday party in Boston at “Liquor Store” (which is no longer in business). This is where the story gets contentious as Caroline insists Patrick made the first move by offering to buy her cover into the bar. Patrick insists Caroline started flirting with him on the party bus before arriving. Regardless of the initial pursuit, that night kicked off numerous Stats Sundays and Lincoln Friday night encounters before Patrick finally got the sense to ask for her number. Soon after, they went on their first date to Papagayo in Fort Point (also no longer in business), and after a fun weekend ski trip up north in January 2013 with friends, Patrick finally made it official and asked Caroline to be his girlfriend at Salsa's in South Boston (again, no longer in business). You could say the rest is history and here we are, almost 9 years later tying the knot! ...you know you've been together a long time when every important location in your relationship is now out of business!
