Jake met the groom in high school. They had mutual friends and mutual interests; including playing the guitar. Jake was 16 and Jeff was 15 at the time that they met and they've been friends ever since. Now they share even more interests such as firearms, archery, fishing and video games.

Fayth befriended the bride in the 3rd grade when Ashley transferred to her school and joined her recreational softball team. Fayth and Ashley remained friends all these years and their friendship is actually what led to Ashley and Jeffrey's relationship since Fayth is Jeff's sister. Fayth is an extremely loyal friend and would do anything for the bride. She even assured her that they were friends before the relationship so that would never change no matter what.

Theo Bethea-Layton

Groomsman

Theo met the groom in middle school and they became friends since they had similar interests. When they realized they lived only a couple minutes away from each other, they began to hang out more often. Theo quickly became a friend of the whole family and would be invited over regardless of whether Jeff was even there. In fact, when Jeff was deployed to Afghanistan, Theo would come over to check up on his family and see how they were doing.

Elizabeth Storey

Liz attended the same church as the bride growing up and their families were always good friends. Their mothers would babysit for each other often. Ashley is two years older than Liz but that didn't hinder their friendship one bit. Liz helped Ashley move into her dorm room for her freshman year of college and kept in touch, even while Ashley studied abroad thousands of miles away.

Karl Logan

Karl has known the groom since he was 12 years old. Karl moved into a house in Jeff's neighborhood and their two families became friends. Karl started as a friend of Jeff's dad but once Jeff was grown and out of the Army, the two became close as well. They share conversations about anything and everything over drinks at Karl's house. Jeff even lived with Karl and his wife for a time.

Kate Gupton

Ashley and Kate met through a Facebook group for the UNCG class of 2020. The summer after their high school graduation, many soon-to-be college students were introducing themselves on the group and trying to find good matches for roommates. Ashley and Kate each talked to other people but once they got to talking, it was clear that they would be roommates. They were really already friends before they even became roommates and have been close ever since. They even worked it out so that they could study abroad together in New Zealand.

Cory Krueger

Cory and the groom met in 2016 playing Battlefield 4 online. They had a good time playing together so they continued to invite each other to matches. It got to the point where they were go-to teammates and when one person was excited about a new game, the rest of the group (Jake and Dylan included) would buy it too so they could all play as a team. Cory lives in Iowa and has never seen the groom in person but did not hesitate to accept the proposal to be a groomsman in the wedding.

Ashley met Anna because she was a friend of her first college roommate, Kate. Anna became Ashley and Kate's new roommate in the Fall of 2018. It did not take long for the two to become great friends! Anna got married in July 2020 and asked Ashley to be one of her bridesmaids.

Dylan Henkel

Dylan met the groom through Cory. Cory has known Dylan since they were kids and would invite Dylan to play video games with them. So, Dylan has the same kind of friendship with Jeff that Cory has. They've known him for years but have yet to meet him since they live in Iowa. Dylan was psyched to be a groomsman and had to ask "Is Cory going to be a groomsman too?"

Jacob is the bride's brother; older by two years. Jacob is an experienced ring bearer, having served as one in his cousin Nikki's wedding years ago. It's a very important role in the wedding business so the couple knew they'd have to book him quick.
