Sarah and Andrew's stories begin long before they actually began dating. The two were students at Greenfield Middle School and Greenfield High School together. Although they knew of each other, their social circles unfortunately never crossed. As high school graduation approached, both were dating other people, Andrew was ready to start his academic career at UW-Parkside while Sarah was ready begin her studies at UW-Whitewater. Andrew eventually went on to graduate from UW-Parkside, work full time at the Milwaukee County Parks, and room with some of his best friends from college. Sarah graduated from UW-Whitewater, went on to earn her Master's from Western Illinois University, and begun her first full-time job at UW-Whitewater alongside her corgi, Charlie. In August of 2018, their lives were about to change forever. Their paths had crossed when the two became active on each other's social media accounts. Sarah had messaged Andrew on Facebook to spark conversation about how life after high school was going. The two then quickly exchanged phone numbers and planned to hang out soon after. What was supposed to be a night of catching up turned into a weekend adventure where the two met each other's friends and family. Although things were going fast, Sarah and Andrew knew that what they had was something special. Andrew created a scavenger hunt in September where he asked Sarah to be his girlfriend in early September. From there, the two spent a year of adventures that include a trip to Florida with Andrew's family, a weekend road trip to Minnesota, holidays, and of course the couple's favorite thing to do in their free time, Escape Rooms. In March of 2019, the two agreed it was time to take their relationship to the next step by having Andrew move in with Sarah. It wouldn't be long before Sarah and Andrew were about to take another huge step in their relationship.
December 8th 2019, the day that would change their lives forever. Andrew and Sarah started their day driving to their hometown to pick up Sarah's sister, brother in-law, and nephew. The five went to Mimosas, which happens to be Sarah and Andrew's favorite breakfast restaurant. It was planned that they would grab dinner at the new Wahlburgers restaurant in Brookfield as Sarah had been wanting to try it out since it had opened. Hours past while Sarah battled a migraine she had gotten in the morning and Andrew debated if today was still the best day to pop the question. Thankfully, Sarah was better by the time they had driven to Wahlburgers. Their time at Wahlburgers was...interesting to say the least. Sarah thought the plan was to take Christmas card pictures after dinner, since the area outside of Wahlburgers was beautifully lit with Christmas lights. Andrew had a different plan in mind... The four exited the restaurant and as Sarah thought they needed to go to their car to grab items for their Christmas card, they all went in the opposite direction towards the Christmas lights. Sarah questioned why they weren't going to the car and all Andrew kept saying was to just trust him. Sarah and Andrew stood under what looked like an ornament and posed for nice pictures. Sarah's sister was taking pictures while her brother in-law was recording the whole thing. As they were taking pictures, Andrew asked Sarah if she loved him. After Sarah had answered yes, Andrew had asked how much did Sarah love him. As Sarah started to question what was going on, she turned to Andrew that was getting down on one knee. Andrew had asked Sarah if she wanted to love him for the rest of her life. Shocked, Sarah had said yes with so much excitement. The two then spent the rest of their evening at the Melting Pot with Sarah's sister and brother in-law to enjoy some dessert fondue. It was a night that they would remember for the rest of their lives.
